Beginners to advanced birders, all are welcome.
While visiting our sea-shores, fresh-water ponds and reed beds, coastal cliff paths and woodlands, you will become aware of the ‘jizz’ (general impression of size and shape) of a bird. We will identify marsh harriers from buzzards, brambling amongst flocks of chaffinch and separate swallows from martins and swifts.
We can look for puffins in spring, our breeding colonies of little egrets, cirl buntings, short-toed treecreeper and bittern.
The autumn/winter months are magical for finding our visiting geese, wild fowl and waders.
Infirm and handicapped persons catered for, including care home residents with their carer.
We can use the car as a bird hide.
It is a door to door service, unless you prefer to meet at a pre-designated spot.
Binoculars can be provided.
We can stop for refreshment breaks (not included in tour cost).
A visit to your garden to birdwatch over a cup of tea, which can include your friends, is the perfect way to brush up on bird song and identification.
School visits to your own established Nature Habitat can be arranged. DBS obtained Sept 2013.
If you book a tour at the weekend you have the added bonus of my wife, Allison joining us. Alli is Jersey born and has interests in all aspects of local wildlife, including butterflies, botany and of course our local bird life. In 2018 she completed the Identiplant 2 year botany course.
