In the summer months, the Jersey Lavender Farm has to be one of the most alluringly fragrant and picturesque attractions on the island. From mid-May to late July the lavender is in bloom and makes for a spectacular sight.
But while soaking up the beauty of the glorious lavender it should not be forgotten that it is also a crop that needs to be harvested and processed at the right time to obtain the precious lavender oil that is used in the unique range of Jersey Lavender products.
During the harvest time there's the opportunity to learn about the processing of the lavender and other herbs. At harvest there are distillery talks every day at 11:30 and 15:00 explaining how the pure essential oil is steam-distilled from the lavender flowers and how it is then transformed into Jersey Lavender's range of home and body products.
The farm itself is perfect for a peaceful stroll – around the herb gardens, through shady woods, along the nature friendly pathways that surround the nine acres of lavender.
There is even a 'Discovery Trail' to follow, which is great fun for children and adults alike, and feeding the many chickens and doves is not to be missed too!
At Sprigs Café, the farm offers delicious snacks, light lunches and traditional afternoon teas. You can even sit out on the café veranda and enjoy the view of the tranquil garden scenery.
In Sprigs Shop you can find that perfect gift of 'Lavender Farm magic' to take away with you. You can also top up from home as the products are available from the website - www.jerseylavender.co.uk
The family and staff enjoy chatting to visitors, answering their questions, and take pride in their work at the farm. We are proud to take our agricultural crop from harvest and distilling right through to the creation of our wonderful products that are available to purchase in our shop.
We would love to see you at Jersey Lavender - remembering that the lavender blossoms will be in bud at Easter as it is still early in the season.
We look forward to seeing you!
